This company is fighting the sea to protect North Carolina coastal homes

Barry Crum, owns Crum Works. Inc., a company working to save or relocate homes on the North Carolina Outer Banks threatened by coastal erosion and rough surf. Crum said the pilings can be driven into the sand to stabilize homes but when the sand washes away there isn't anything that can be done. 
With almost 10 homes collapsing into the ocean[1] in the past week along North Carolina’s Outer Banks, those who live there know the problem of coastal erosion is only worsening.
