Seed Producer Pays $280,000 Fine to Arkansas Over Failure to Report Chinese Regime OwnershipA seed producer has paid a $280,000 fine to the state of Arkansas for failing to report that the Chinese regime owns a stake in the company, Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin said on Thursday. Syngenta Seeds LLC, a Switzerland-headquartered producer of genetically modified crop seeds, owns about 160 acres of farmland in Arkansas’ Craighead County through a subsidiary, Northrup King Seed Co., according to the attorney general’s office. Public Inquiry on Foreign Interference Opens Application for Stakeholders' ParticipationThe federal public inquiry investigating foreign interference in Canadian elections has extended invitations to individuals and groups to apply for standing before the commission. It also announced that one of the lawyers who led the Emergencies Act inquiry will be lead counsel for the probe. The Public Inquiry Commission into Foreign Interference on Nov. 10 posted information on its newly launched website for those who want to participate in the hearings.
